HASAN CÜNEYT BOZKURT: A Proud Bicycle Journey by an Educator from Söke and His Son: İsmail Eravcı

Hasan Cüneyt Bozkurt, a primary school teacher working in Çavdar Village and a source of pride for the district of Söke, together with his son, Yaman Efe Bozkurt, carried out an extraordinary project.

First Step: Hearts Pedaling from Aydın to Hatay

Turning their dream of riding “the world’s longest continuous bicycle route” into reality, the father and son completed this unique route between the districts of Arsuz and Samandağ in Hatay using a bicycle equipped with a trailer capable of carrying up to 200 kilograms. Their remarkable journey, which began in Söke and extended all the way to Hatay, attracted widespread attention through their courage and determination.

“By completing the world’s longest continuous bicycle route, we delivered aid supplies to Hatay Ulubatlı Hasan Secondary School. Along the route, there was no internet access and no settlements. There were no facilities, beach businesses, or grocery stores. Although traces of the earthquake had affected certain sections of the route, we never lost our belief in completing it without interruption.”

Behind this demanding expedition lay not only the physical challenges of the road but also the spirit of mutual support and solidarity among people. Bozkurt also spoke with admiration about the perseverance and determination shown by his 10-year-old son throughout the journey. He emphasized that completing such a demanding route—even on foot—would not have been easy under those conditions.
